Why Do Some Brands Adopt PPS Charging

Image
By Pankaj Mirchandani –  PPS stands for “Programmable Power Supply” and it’s a way for your phone, tablet, or other devices to charge quickly and safely. What is PPS Fast Charging? When you plug your device into a charger, it needs a certain amount of power to charge. But sometimes, chargers can give too much or too little power, which can make your device charge too slowly or even damage it. PPS helps make sure your device gets the perfect amount of power like   GAN 65w . One way PPS does this is by using something called “power delivery,” or PD for short. PD is a way for the charger to talk to your device and figure out how much power it needs. So, if your device is almost fully charged, the charger will send less power, but if it’s almost dead, it will send more power. PPS & PD work will always be used in conjunction with a Type-C port. Some PPS chargers use a new material called GaN Charging technology. GaN stands for Gallium Nitride, and it’...

Everything You Need to Know About Wireless Charging Pad - Optimized for the Fastest Charging Experience

Image
By Anan Sadh – In today’s time, a wireless charging pad is quite a helpful piece of technology to have. It frees our space from cable clutter & lets us charge our devices by just placing them on it. Whether you keep it directly in front of you at work or on your side table at home, a wireless charger can make charging your electronic gadgets ( those which are Qi-enabled) much easy. It is a simple yet effective charging method that has acquired prominence lately. It works on the principle of Induction charging where the charger utilizes Qi-guaranteed transmitting coils for delivering charge to your smartphone. Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) invented the Qi wireless charging strategy. It is the most widely used wireless charging technique & is what many brands use inside their wireless charging gadgets. The only downside is that it is much slower than conventional cable charging & doesn’t continue to charge your device the moment you lift it of...

Understanding Different Charging Protocols

Image
By Anan Sadh – There are many different types of fast charging protocols such as OPPO’s open VOOC Flash Charge,  OnePlus WARP / Dash , Realme DART charge, Qualcomm’s Quick Charge fast charging & PPS / PD Fast Charging. Some of these are proprietory ( Flash, Dash, Warp, Dart, VooC) & QC,while some are open platforms ( PD & PPS) Nowadays, smart phones have quick charging between 18W to 65W power, with charge times going from 30 minutes to a little more than 60 minutes. Let’s broadly understand the differences. Qualcomm’s Quick Charge QC3.0 / 4.0 Qualcomm’s QC Quick Charge is very familiar today & it is a representative of a high-voltage   fast car charger . It was first launched in 2013 when the highest power was 10W (5V/2A). By QC 3.0, the power increased to 36W, & now it supports 200mV step voltage regulation, which is no longer a fixed set of voltage & current. QC 4 supports s...

Ultraprolink - Trusted Name Amongst The Companies in The Charging Space

Image
In Conversion with Mr Pankaj Mirchandani, Founder and CEO, UltraProLink. During the past few years, most mobile brands have stopped giving chargers with their handsets. What implication does this have on the charging segment? It all started with Apple deleting the power adapter from its phone packaging stating the reduction of its carbon footprint. All brands have quickly followed suit without realizing that the customer will now need to buy the charger separately which will also have its own packaging – so In my opinion, I don’t think it has anything to do with the reduction of carbon footprint. The phone box has become slimmer so now more phones can be shipped in the same amount of space.  Also with each brand promoting its own charging protocol, they see the opportunity to sell their chargers separately. This is also great for third-party brands like UltraProlink which offers chargers that support multiple protocols to address this pain point of customers in sea...

GaN Chargers : Changing the Face of Charging

Image
GaN vs. Normal Charger By Anan Sadh – This new type of charger utilizes gallium nitride rather than the usual silicon in its development. It makes the charger compact in size, more energy-efficient, and quicker at charging than a conventional charger. GaN charger can deal with higher power levels & charges faster than the ordinary charger. Furthermore, because it’s a superior conductor of power, it can deal with more power without getting hot. GaN chargers are basically compact yet high-powered chargers. They consist of Universal Compatibility with Full Quick Charging Protocols. All such protocols in the market get supported for most mobile devices. Advantages of having a GaN Charger over a Normal Charger – Compact in Size Since GaN chargers are more effective semiconductor material, they are more compact & minimal than ordinary chargers. They are likewise much more versatile, so you can take them anywhere along with you because they are simp...
